Pro Tools & Logic in one CPU conflicting each other out?

Here are the condition.

I have one Imac and one Mac Pro (2.93 8core 8 memory).

in Imac I have logic, while mac pro I have pro tools.

I really want to just use my mac pro and sell my imac. while using only mac pro. so I will have logic and pro tools in my mac pro. but expert says that to not install logic and pro tools in one cpu, cause it will be conflicting each other. it is better to seperate them. logic in imac, and pro tools in mac pro.

is it true? any recommendation for me?

Many studios run logic as a front end to pro tools, so I can't see why they would conflict if installed on the same system.

well ofcourse the progs will use power from the same CPU when its only one, but it shouldnt matter, bounce down stuff and the cpu will cool down.

or are u actualy saying that pro tools doesnt support multitasking? lol that came in what? windows 3.11 in 1992?

sorry i have no idea but it just sounds crazy if its not possible to run both at the same computer.

No, they wil not conflict on the same machine in terms of software.

They will conflict if you try to use protools and Logic at the same time as differnt programs as protools does not like other interfaces or aggregate devices being used when it's on.

It is possible to use Logic as a front end for protools but honestly, it's not that stable (one of the biggest reasons for owning protools in the first place) and I don't understand why you'd want to when there are perfectly good interfaces for less money out there that work seamlessly with logic.

There's no reason for them to conflict unless you're trying to run both programs at once. I use them both everyday.

Is it pro tools HD or an M-powered/LE version? What soundcard?

This is true. Your "expert" is wrong. Instead of repeating information from this thread, I can only suggest to re-read DJ RANN's posts.
