If you get the leader of a pagan tribe to convert, then the tribe will most likely follow as long as it seems like a good idea. Just look up Clovis , king of the Franks. If I remember correctly, he decided to pray to the christian God before he went into battle. The battle was like a totally perfect win so he decided to convert. The rest of the franks became christian and they all lived happily ever after.
Yea, I'm pretty sure that's how it went.
