My friends and I are going to Montreal this weekend and we decided that checking out a club might be in the cards....but just try to find out what's going on.....
It seems that clubs STILL have NOT discovered the marketing value of the internet....are they the only ones?
1. Circus - they still have the flyer posted for the month of JULY!
2. Stereo - theu have nothing on their event calendar beyond last weekend (fire not withstanding....)
I had a look at a couple in TO....
1. The Guvernment - horrible site....if you look at the day of the week...it only shows a list of residents...if you look at special events...it only shows one room...(I note their is a themed party listed on TA for Gallery on Saturday...5 Hour Carlo Lio set...no mention of it on Guv's site)
2. If you do a search for "Circa" on google...you get a listing for an "official" Circa site that no longer exists.....
It all seems sloppy to me...and in this day and age...a HUGE missed opportunity....
thoughts?
PS. Congrats to FOOTWORK...they have info on ALL their events for the next two and a half weeks....the best site I visited...by far!

i see five events listed on the guvernment website up until the deadmau5 event.
also, the gallery event is technically not hosted by ink which is probably why they dont put it on their site.

Stereo is apparantly only opening on Saturdays for the first while. The concept is "Surprise DJ" every Saturday. No one will know until you go. Opens at 1am stays open till ???

IMO...I should be able to go to the GUV site and see what is happening IN THE ENTIRE club, any given night....not just one thing in one room....
DO you really think the average club goer knows what INK is or cares? Shouldn't GUV want to attract people to every room no matter who the promoter is?

testament once again that the tranceaddict events forum is the most accurate and informative place to find party info...
for montreal night clubs, check www.clubplanet.com, tranceaddict, and i think there's a site called montrealnights or maybe montrealknights.com that used to be great for event listings
wantickets.com also has lots of events listed and tickets of course

not defensive at all....in fact...you were the one who jumped right in to defend GUV...
I think it's really funny that everyone is pointing me to other sites...about the scene or for ticket purchase...or even TA...I agree with all your comments and sugggestions...but my point is simply this:
IF CLUBS ARE GOING TO HAVE A WEBSITE...SHOULDN'T IT BE INFORMATIVE AND UP TO DATE?
