dave try mogo's mongolian in sherman oaks or little fat sheep in monterey park...booooomb. i believe mogo's lunch is around 6-7 and dinner is all you can eat meat, but i haven't been back in years. la's chinese food is widely regarded as slightly superior to sf's. much of it is centered in monterey park and alhambra though. ironically i never choose to eat chinese in sf cause it's so widely available here in the south bay, but there's this joint next door to this bomb pho spot in the sunset, called san tung, that always has a crowd out the door. i guess their specialty is dry fried chicken wings. i will check out ho's cause i love mongolian bbq myself. om nom nom... btw you should specify what kind of chinese food you're after (ie: mandarin/beijing, cantonese/dim sum, fuijan, hunan, szechwan, shanghai, taiwanese, etc) as there's a huge range of tastes and textures.
