trance vinyl: will it be worth anything?

I've got a couple of crates of records that will probably never see a turntable again.

Records from the 60s/70s/80s and 90s can be worth a lot, or nothing at all.

So, all those anthems from ca. 2000, are they worth anything now, or will they be in the future? How does one ascertain whether a record is worth hanging on to, or selling now before it becomes valueless?

Most of my records are from 2003/2004. I need cash for my trip coming up (student stipend just doesn't cut it), but I don't know if it's worth the bother to get rid of some records now?

For example: Items like the Xpander EP and original of Lost Tribe - Gamemaster seem to have value still, but will they be worth more or less in the future?

Seems like noone will care about vinyl in 5-10 years time?

Yer, I'll start looking tonight. But I want to know what is worth selling and what is worth hanging on to.

don't know how old this list is, but I think most of these should be still in the crates.

I honestly don't think they hold their value because they were released in such numbers, I picked up Xpander for 20 bucks of ebay , brand new pretty much no scratches. I think old school prog retains value more because those that have them dont give them up, strictly speaking trance from the 90s should be worth a bit. ie. Melt - Be Liquid... which I got for 10 bucks

they will always hold their value to the right buyer, you can't objectively say that they won't.

i've got all the gatecrasher vinyl samplers with sexy covers along with digweed destinations all brand new, i'm sure they'll be worth a shit load in the future - i'm a collector, i pay for scarcity and must haves.

the digital age has/will erode that away completely.

thought about this recently... a mate asked me about buying my turnies and i thought "but then i wont be able to play my vinyl" ...... which i haven't properly touched in years... 700+ trance & some cheesy commercial electro haus vinyls and i'll probably never touch them again...

...so why hold onto em? because they represent massive awesome memories for me.. they're like an audio photobook of memories that i can't give up

but if i wanna part with em for some extra cash i wonder how much, if anything, they'll be worth down the track...

i still like the idea of being in my later life and putting on my old trance vinyls and remembering what the sound was like way back when ...i wonder what trance will sound like around that time compared to what i experienced...
