Well the unusual thing about this turntable is that it doesnt have a port to insert a ground wire, its just a USB turntable, which I mainly use for converting vinyl.

depends on just what you mean by a scratching noise. Certainly even with nothing plugged in, you can hear the tick/tick of the high notes just from the needle moving over the surface.

Exactly which turntable do you have?
Does it have a fixed headshell and needle, or can you put on your own?
For how long have you been using it, and has the needle ever been changed?
Normal wear and tear could easily be the reason for the scratching, but your post is far too vague for anyone to really help you properly.
