true or false?

we all have discussed witch daw is best or worse till blue in the face.

but what i want us to think about does a different daw mean a new way of making tracks and if so does it make it better?

For me this is true.

Thinking of how to manke a track in Ableton is different than in Fruity when it comes to the thinking/creativity process.

Even though FL is more of a pain in the ass to me now since using Ableton i think im going to more switch between the two to make tracks to keep the creativity flowing.

I might even take the time to get in depth with Reason because I have a slight case of ADD (but who doesnt nowadays) so I think using different environments to produce or at least get down ideas is a good way to keep the creativity/thinking process flowing so that things dont become too routine or bland.

If you're like me, chances are you will get different ideas when using different DAWs.

yeah its weird my main daw is fl and when i use a-live i find things that just wasn't there in fl. it seems to be a fresher approach in theory tho why would it be any real difference other then the gui and sound engines

I'm thick or something, my brain would not accept any extraneous clutter and likes to focus on a few things only. The thought of more than one DAW would send into shutdown.


I default to sticking with one DAW always, and learn it very deep.

Same with synths, I like a few which I know deeply rather than tons of gear.

My cubase5 manual is 672 pages long, and there are separate manuals for FX and so on plus a million posts on the cubase forum, not to mention vids.

Every time I read the main manual I find something new, and I read it a lot.

Respect to those nthat are able to suck in the detail of 2+ DAW's.

When I switched to Ableton from Fruity Loops, my workflow totally changed, did it make it better? Yes it did, but the topic is subjective.

I would say yes, different DAW's inspire different ways of working. You just need to find the right one for you and get stuck in.
