hello i have a chance to get used Technics SL1200MK2 turntables for 600$ with stanton needles ...is this a decent deal?

no, not really.

maybe if they are REALLY good stanton needles, and they come with an extra set of stylus or something..

but you can get a brand new tech 12 for $399, so $600 is not a good deal.

unless of course, it's $600 for 2 decks, then that is a wicked deal.

Well, I bought a pair of MK2 1200, in very very good condition, they even has the Dustcovers, and they came just with 2 Technics Headshell, a pickering Cartrige, and they costed me 300 USD bouth,.. so i think that price for that is a little pricey.

yup, he mentioned "turntables" ... so 2 for 600 is really good. might i also suggest a test run to see if theres any problems.... i would try running two duplicate vinyls at low, normal, and hi pitch at the same time. if theres any fluctuation, then there might be something wrong w/ the quartz or magnet.

I would love yo know where you are purchasing a brand new TECHNICS turntable for $400 canadian? i have not seen a store that is selling em for less that $790 brand new, and that is each. Might you let us all in on this super cheap store that you are talking about? Maybe i just don't see these deals cause I am from the maritimes but i would deffinetly like to know where your buying from.

sorry m8, it's $399 US dollars, i saw the guy asking for help was from the US, so i quoted a US price.

cheapest i have found them in canada is $650, i just bough 4 m3ds, of from the an electronics shop down the street. it took a bit of haggling, but they did it for me. 2 for me, 2 for my friend.

thanks for the replies....it is for 2 turntables...they are used, but not from a store online. its a person. if i can get some pictures or more info i'll post it..thanks again
