need software to batch cut and normalize my samples

Hey guys, I just finished a massive sound design session resulting in a large number of unorganized sound files. Within any given sound file there may be just one sound or several sounds. These waves are not cut obviously.... I do have the technology to cut and export these sounds 1 by 1 but i figure there must be a better way.

I want a program (win or mac... i have both) where I can drop all of these files into it and it will cut up the audio at the points where the volume is negative infinity or below a threshold set by the user and then delete the silent portions and then take the portions of audio that have sound in them and normalize them in the exporting process.

There MUST be software that can do this.

If so, I would like to hear about it.

Really? That's pretty impressive. It lets you select a folder of sounds, some containing multiple samples, and batch processes them to split them into single samples, removes silences and normalises them?

I'll have to check if Cubase has anything similar to offer...

having a hard time believing its that easy in logic. if so im impressed and want to hear how.

btw when we are talking about logic, im currently using express 8. upgrading to 9 full studio is not too expensive really, but is it any big changes, advantages, anything that would make my decision easier?

i know that logic can cut the files up but you still have to delete the bits of audio with no sound....

and then you can't export the individual files within the audio layer.. you can only export the whole layer with all the audio bits in it.....

It will do the slicing and dicing for you, not sure about normalising, but of course once you have the split audio files, you can of course batch process in an audio editor like Wavelab.

I know the freeware CDEX can normalize an entire folder of wavs.
