The dvd that comes with future music usualy has interviews that go into good depth, but the written articles only skim what is said.

Also top producers need to protect thier secrets just as KFC does or they might be out of a job. They are running a business. I know it's nice to imagine they should all be free and easy and give everything away, but if you were aged 40 with kids to put through school and holidays to pay for, you will put your loved ones first, so will want to protect your business - it's a basic Darwinian imperative to want to protect your livelyhood.

i wasnt asking for their secrets just wanted to know and see how they go about making a track in the studio, tons of producers have released videos of such (sander van doorn, the thrillseekers) so i was looking for some more.

I would stop short of thinking that top producers have some type of "trade secret" like a corporation. It's not like they have some "magic formula" that they are attempting to protect from you or I. What makes them better than you or I, is most likely the result of talent and experience.

BT put it best when he said: "If you think your career success is based on one particular technique or formula that you feel you need to protect from everyone else, there is a problem somewhere..."
