That would depend on the spanish person in question.... they aren't a homogenious nation with regard to religion. That said, you're looking at a population that is largely Catholic (thus no meat on Fridays applies) or Muslim (far too many food rules for me to rhyme off).
FYI, muslims can eat beef... it needs to be halah (sp?) which is the muslim equivalent to Kosher. You're thinking of Hindus... who can eat beef but generally do not as cows are sacred beings.
