That's it? No reviews? Nothing to quantify your statement?

It was a question not a statement, hence the '?'

While itīs impossible for me to tell, since Iīve not heard the barefoots myself, I sure hope they
are "better" in some respects.. If you head over to gearslutz.com, youīll have a huge number of
threads about these, and maybe someone there have heard both systems. Iīd love a pair of these
myself, but Iīve got the focals, and I certainly wouldnīt NEED anything better than those :P
(Even though they havenīt been used for over a year now space issues)

Arabic oil sheikh?! LMAO!! I think you're talking about me, if i'm not mistaken?! FYI, i worked my butt off to buy those monitors & i also work as a mixing/mastering engineer in my spare time so half of the money came from those projects.

Anyway i have the bigger version the Barefoot Micromain MM27, the difference is that they have bigger subwoofers (10" compared to 7") & an extra mid driver. The amps are obviously more powerful as well, so the MM27 are capable of much higher SPL's. Apparently the MM35 are as good as their bigger brothers at lower levels, so if you have a smaller room or want to save $2500 then they are a good bet.

I haven't used Focals but i can compare them to the K+H 0300 & the Dynaudio BM6A's which i also used to own. The Barefoot MM27 are just much more revealing all around, so it's very easy to get good mixes out of them. They save you a lot of time & effort as they translate really well, so they're worth the investment IMO.

So i don't know if they're absolutely essential for hobbyist musicians, but if like me you work on mixing/mastering projects then they are worth every penny.

My two cents.

How would these new little ones compare with the o300s? Any thoughts?

^^
Hard to say without having heard the mm35's. They must be pretty similar in performance with maybe the mm35's having a little edge in the low end, as they have dual subwoofers whereas the 0300's only have one.

Another comparison on the 0300 vs Barefoot is thats the 0300 always seemed a little dull and soft to me. So producing wasn't as much fun on them as the barefoots, i always had to turn them up to feel the music. However they did translate extremely well, it's just that they didn't have that 'vibe'. The barefoots translate as well and they're fun to work on too.

Another negative point about the 0300's is that they don't go very loud. The limiters kick in a bit too easily for me, especially on bass heavy music.

Anyway i wouldn't hesitate to recommend the 0300's to anyone, they're excellent monitors but they have their tiny flaws.

Really? I thought the SPL was 120 or something? Do you monitor really loudly?

o300s are my monitor that I'll buy when I'm actually rich enough to buy stuff

When i checked the limiters usually kicked in around 85-90db but like i said this was mostly with bass heavy music. So with genres other than dance music they don't have that problem.
