Using Pioneer DJM 800 effects

Looking for some help guys. Just got a new mixer and have been trying to do effect like in the sample below.

Tried using echo, delay and roll to no avail.

Choose the roll effect and put it on 1/4 beat (2 left of the standard 1 beat).

Hit the effect button on beat and you will get that effect.

Make sure you're using the auto beat detection.

Hmm I just seem to be getting a stammer effect.

Any tips?

The stammer effect is what you've posted a clip of.

As I listen to it again, he's adding the effect just off beat.

Play round with it, play round with the depth knob, if you only turn it quarter of the way you'll have a bit of roll and a bit of the underlying track.

It's definately the most fun to use, becuase it's so simple and gives such a dramatic effect.
