Skip the keyboard for now and combine your budget on monitors. You'll thank me later.

You can find a decent pair of KRKs for $500-$600

V6s and maybe V8s. But depending on your room size, the V6s might be enough. Actually for $600 you can probably get both V6's and a small midi controller. Craigslist is our friend.

I'd stick to either ADAM or Focal. Both have budget models. If you don't have the $$ for a pair now, get a nice pair of headphones (AKG or Sony) until you do. Don't waste your time with less when it comes to monitors, you're only limiting yourself.

Seriously listen to Alan. He's owned and sold every piece of equipment I can think of.

The guys budget is $600 for Monitors and Midi Keyboard, not $1000 or $2000, and headphones wont do him anywhere as good as proper monitors.

http://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/tor/msg/1416252375.html KRK V6 Series 2

Haggle a bit, see if you can get em for $500.

http://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/tor/msg/1438297409.html

M Audio midi controler $75

or

http://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/tor...403929680.html

Edirol midi controller $125

So for about $575-$625 you'll have some basics but very useable essentials to get started with ; )

Theres really no cheaper quality monitors then $600?

Thats sad, I got a nice pair of headphone for $120 and was hoping I'd get my monitors for around $300. Guess I'll just keep pushing back buying the first piece of hardware lol (first *nice piece of hardware).

Well honestly then if you can save an extra $100 I think that would work out better. You can get a decent midi board for $100 (it will do the job) then spend the rest on proper monitors.

Okay so I won't have to make a new thread I'll ask a question here

I have been djing for two years now and I finally want to jump into producing before it's too late, as I saw the other thread start producing while your younger is better in the long run.

I have finally saved up enough money to invest in gear and I just ordered Logic studio 9 for my Macbook Pro.

What are good monitors to get? Someone told me I should get these ones

Dynaudio BM 6A mk II

what are your guys honest opinion? Thanks alot!
