Why do labels need so long to release a track?

Yes, we are talking about digital releases here. Why? I mean, all the label has to do, is to license it and to hand it to the download stores. Can't see how this takes like 1-2 months or even longer.

And it doesn't even make sence as a marketing strategy, i mean when people here a track on a radioshow or a sample of it elsewhere, and they like it, they wan't to get in NOW and not 2 months later. 2 months later theyll probally lost interest in it or are overfed with it.
