Ableton 8 - Midi clip view (Grid option)

Hi All,

Silly question but...

Just moved onto Live on OSX and can not seem to be able to view midi clips in a grid like fashion.

When I double click in the track to activate a midi clip at the bottom, I just seem to get vertical lines and not horizontal lines (using an impulse, by the way). I have seen this in Live 7. Sorry but I am used to a piano roll.

I have searched in the prefs, read the manual and looked on the net. Can somebody put me out of my misery??

Thanks in advance,

Paul

maybe only one sample in your impulse slots? What happens if you add more?

oh I see your problem.

Use a drum rack instead of an Impulse and you'll get the black keys as well as the white ones.

Uncheck the 'Fold' option.
