(128 bpm prog trance) lcrqq - thiel

thiel by lcrqq

New track I've been working on for the past few nights. I'm having some issues with the kick (as usual :P) once all the elements are together in the song. Any suggestions?

Thanks guys

Yea, I can see why your having a hard time with the kick, maybe try pitching it down or another sample altogether. The chords that come in are excellent, sort of reminded me of MS54- Not a lot left =). The bass is pretty funky and driving the song. Some parts drag on just a TAD bit. When you bring in the other melody of the chords, it sort of hits a really low note. The portamento was a nice touch. The break is really weird and "massive" hands in the air type of moment, really nice. Mixdown is clear, the breakdown is great, overall the song is perfect. Keep it up!

Thanks for the reply I don't know if I can pitch the kick down any further though, I think it might just be an EQ issue. The kick consists of a vengeance sample with a LPF around 100 hz which triggers a 44 Hz tone (the fundamental frequency of F.. the key of the song).

Ha.. I was thinking of the exact same thing when you said the chords hit a low note. I might need to add in another bass, that is an octave above, just for those specific notes since it gets kind of "growly".

The funny thing is you said a "massive" hands in the air type of moment.. because all the synths in the break are sounds I made from native instrument's massive.. :P

Thank you again for the reply.. and I will take in mind what you said for the final mix

This is real cool summery stuff, sounds ready for the early half of ASOT! This is much different to the other track you posted from memory, so respect for being able to do different styles, and do them WELL at that! Only thing I'll say is it could do with some added interest here and there, perhaps bring in/out percussion in quick succession to keep things fresh, as some sections seem to go on a little long and stagnate a bit. Great sound though, real polished congrats
