You could also get Rivatuner. A bit of freeware that has a tonne of well nice features. And can force AGP4X on. Also make sure you download the latest VIA 4-in-1's as well

What Nvidia graphics card is it and on what motherboard

Hopefully the following will fix the problem:

Firstly, pop yourself here and download NVmax 4.01.00 LE (Last Edition).

Run the program. You may need to click a link to install the app before you can use it, but if there is no link on the initial screen it's ready to use straight away. I don't think you need to reboot to use it, but I can't remember.

Anyway, click 'system' on the right bar and then select 'Miscellaneous' from the drop-down menu.

Look for 'BSOD 'infinite loop' fix'. If it is greyed out then you may need to upgrade your drivers from www.nvidia.com so that the option becomes available. If it isn't greyed out, tick the box next to it. Then click 'Hide' at the bottom.

Sometimes computers with Nvidia video cards get stuck in neverending loops which cause them to freeze and you to see a BSOD (blue screen of death). This should fix the problem.

PS. You can select the speed of your AGP port by selecting 'system' on the right-hand side and 'AGP' from the drop-down menu.

A good idea is not to change settings in NVmax that you do not know about, i.e. don't change the speeds in 'Clocks' as overclocking your video card can cause it to bugger up.
