im glad even in the digital age some promos are still sacred.

I'm not opposed to DJs having early access to promo tracks. As a producer, I feel this phenomenon often creates more exposure and excitement/anticipation for the tracks (e.g. "I can't wait to pick up that tune! When does it come out?!"). And as a DJ, by the time the tunes have been released it's usually not the case that people are sick of them so playing them out typically gets a great response.

Try killingbeats.com. They usually post the tracks in the comment section. They have plenty of Dubfire sets too.

it is unfortunate but sometimes I feel too much attention is paid to whats new and whats hip in music today. Songs are classified as "good tunes" for a reason which is also part of the reason they are still played years later. Sure a good DJ should make an effort to make his music unique but without the occasional recognizable track...its usually kinda lame.

I personally like to play older stuff quite a bit. I try not to let how old a song is dictate whether it fits in my set or not. if it works, I use it.
