Who is responsible for the rebirth of trance (2002)?

Same point as the 1999 question.

Here it's too close to call but if I'm pressed I'd say...umm...Gielen.

lol...noone 'restarted' trance, 2001 was a kickass year. trance was already revved up and going over the speed limit.

I voted "OTHER"
OTHER being M.I.K.E aka PUSH
I can't believe he's not listed on the Poll then I'd have to say a tie between Gielen, Tiesto and Ferry and Armin.

id say nobody is single handedly resposible for the supposed uplift of trance in 2002 (which i dont agree with, i thought 2001 was waaay better) even if so, no way gielen. i mean since last year hes not really came out with anythign spectacular, and even then his only good production has been we know what you did...

Yes 2001 kicked ass but Trance's popularity really sank.

As for MIKE and L- Vee, I don't think they are major factors in this...

I will not vote, this is too complicated to choose from.

Everyone gave there part to this, from Lasgo, Sylver and Ian Van Dahl in the EuroTrance scene my main men Scoota who are having a blast right now with Ramp , to Gielen who I believe will eb the DJ of the year and has really made a lot for Trance since the beginning of the year.

Tijs keeps bangin, same goes to PvD who proved us with Rossemontag and Mayday that he still has what it takes (Yes, some have doubted that!), Ferry and Armin have made progressions to make things more interesting this year, and Hardtrance recieved a huge liftup this year from people like Flutlicht&SHOKK, Dumonde, Cosmic Gate, Scot Project, plus the "Little people" like Megara, Wag, Future Breeze (They rock a lot...) etc.

But, I think the big upcommer this year is Progressive... no need to detail.

You know what the best thing is? We're only halfway through this year

I cant vote, theres too many. Definately DJ Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, and Svenson & Gielen started off the year, and Solar Stone and Three Drives are bringing in the tracks that will be classics by next year

FOOLS!

Trance never really died....the media was too busy with hard house in 2000 and what happened...no one really bought into it...2001 = progressive....same thing......and trance is still going strong...ppl have bashed it and bashed it and it is still around. Trance had no rebirth....it's just 3 yrs later and different ppl and some of the same ppl....at the forefront of it.

NOT a one-man job

voted for PvD (has a lot to do with his recent POD mix album), but it's hardly one single person's job. Armin and Tiesto have been pretty prolific this year so far, for instance.

trance music never really died, but admittedly, it came off the apex of 1999. and comparing to that it's been going through a rather stale period this year -- hate being nostalgic, but i can easily spot a handful of knockout tracks from '99 (y'know, tracks that truly give you chill), but what do we have this year? sure, "Dust.Wav", "Southern Sun", "We Know What You Did" are all good, but none of them tops the sheer beauty of "Mercury & Solace", "Not Over Yet", "Cafe del Mar" or "Namestai", if i say so myself.
