So I was watching an Irish movie yesterday and noticed they all said "Aye" instead of "Yeah". Do you say this as well?

I thought it was pretty interesting. Somewhere bordering cool and annoying.

Either way... what is the answer???

Mainly said in parts of the north of Ireland rather than the south where it wouldn't be heard as much as a response. N3lly seems like a skanger (google it) so he might have more interesting ways of saying yeah

Compared to king of the bogs or Queen of the Sticks (I don't know whether you're a bloke or a girl, well... from the way you post anyway) HeyO!

Scottish people and people from Northern Ireland would say Aye a lot more as well as using Wee instead of a little.

Example of Aye, can be seen in LOST, Desmond used to say it all the time.

I personally find it uber hot when a NI Girl says aye, but some people detest it.

I'm up the north a lot, and I have to say there seems to be something in the water up there, the women and that accent are lethal.

Yeah but a strong NI accent on a bloke is just incomprehensible to a well-brought southern Englishman like myself. Was talking to a particular Northern Irish DJ on a boat on Saturday night and could hardly understand a word, even though he's been living in the UK for years.

Just had to guess what he might be saying... he was waving a laptop at me so I assumed it was something along the lines of "Get the feck off, it's my turrrn!"

This is very true, I'm not a huge fan of the accent on blokes to be honest. Girls i love it. Blokes it's a little rough.

Then again nothing beats a Cork accent over here. If you think a Belfast accent is tough, it's nothing compared to a Cork accent.
