Er, no unless you want them to sound like turd.
There's an active thread on monitor placement - I suggest reading that but also figuring what works for your room.
The obvious pointers are:
1, The triangle
2, not too close together, not too close to you (i.e. not a tiny triangle, especially with those speakers)
3, Get stands or isolate them with auralex mopads if on a flat surface
4, Don't have them too close to the wall behind
5, Angle them in (toe in).
6, Don't mess with the settings unless you know what you're doing.
7, Avoid desk splash by raising them above the level of lateral reflection
EDIT: ok, you were joking and I agree with just using them - as I said before by the time you're able to get a feel from them they;ll be broken in already.
