Sad Any computer gurus around? my comp is being a *******... Help plz

My computer has been pretty fucked up lately, it used to freeze and shut down and then this blue screen saying something about a memory boot would come up but i would just restart and then it would be fine

then it started getting this very weird lag that wouldnt let me listen to music but i would always do system restore and it would go back to normal even tho eventually the whole lag thing would come back , like a month ago the lag wouldnt go away because the comp didnt let me system restore anymore so ive been dealing with it since

but today all hell broke loose because it just wont do anything

windows starts normally and then a blue screen similar to the one i used to get before comes up and this is what it says:

STOP: c000021a {Fatal system error}
The windows logon process system process terminated unexpectedlywith a status of 0xc0000135 {0x00000000 0x00000000}
The system has been shut down

its been doing this the whole day and idk what to do now

and the blue screen thing started happening ever since i bought a memory ram for it 1GB one and that was like 5 months ago

My comp is a Dell Optiplex 170L dunno if this helps ...

Anyone know what to do? ... other than tell me to buy a new one

?

it has to turn on , ill lose a lot of shit if it doesnt

Uhhhh.... I can help you if you are willing to helped. Usually when the windows logon process is terminated, it means one of two things (sounds like a combination of both):

1. you are infected with a destructive virus (not random adware/advertising badware etc). So basically, you are going to have to completely re install windows .... WHICH WILL COMPLETELY FIX THE PROBLEM AND YOUR COMPUTER WILL RUN LIKE NEW.

2. Your ram upgrade was faulty, and is causing the BSOD (usually happens at random times)

First remove whatever ram you put in there (If you can figure it out), that may stop EVERYTHING. If my suspicion that #1 is the case is true, you may need to follow the below advice to fix your computer and save your data as well:

There are two ways you could get your data off the hard drive before you wipe it:

1. Physically remove it, get an adapter and hook it up via USB to another computer, copy your files onto the new computer
2. Boot a linux live cd, and copy them over the network

or 3 (lulz):

Pay geeksquad like 300$ and they probobly will wipe all your data "accidently" while fixing your computer, or not copy critical stuff.

Both 1 and 2 require decent technical skills. 2 may be easier if you have to disassemble the entire laptop to get the hard drive out. I can help you with option two, one you can do yourself if you can figure out the right adapter and get your hard drive out.

Disclaimer:

1. I have worked in IT for over 5+ years and program in various languages across different systems for a living.
2. I am not responsible for anything you fuck somehow following my instructions.

Now I assume you don't want to lose your data.

yeah, when fundamental problems like these arise your best bet is to re-install.

I edited my post.

I saw you were having BSOD's after your ram upgrade randomly.

That is a red flag that you have BAD memory installed in the sytem.

If you do, loading up LiveCD Linux will probobly crash as much as your system was after the upgrade (Or instantly, if the problem got worse, which it often does)

But lets get started. You will need a burnable CD.

Download and burn an iso of this for x86 (not x86_64):

http://www.sysresccd.org/Main_Page

First, stick the CD in your faulty laptop, at the boot menu, run Memtest. That will help me see if your Ram is indeed faulty. We can move on from there to fixing the problem.

Eventually, we can use the CD to copy your data off the hard drive if you need to. BUT DEFINITLEY RUN MEMTEST

google?

http://www.duxcw.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=16594.0

also if the solutions in the thread don't work, you can transfer your data off by using Hiren's BootCD (the best recovery disk IMO)

http://www.hirensbootcd.net/

and then reinstall.

i got hit by a fucking virus that strapped to my logon service a couple months ago. goddamn it was the worst virus i ever had. this thing was unbelievable. took me 3 days of solid work to fix it and still retain all of my data. i had to bite the bullet and lose some of my system and registry settings, however.

It's the RAM.

Is that 1GB of ram the only stick you have? If not, take it out and things should be fine.
