vocal effect?

i've been hearing all the time in vocal tracks where a what appears to be a side-chained reverb send from the vocal sweeping around the place, without the original vocal. is there any quick way to do this? or is it a matter of bouncing down the reverb and wiring into a separate channel?

Send 100% the signal to the reverb bus, and have the channel on no output???

Are you talking about that sort of delay effect? Where the vocal hits and repeats lower and lower like a delay but is washed out in reverb?

Just not sure what the exact effect is you're talking about. Can you find a track with it? Would make it a lot easier for people to explain..

Just add the vocal to another channel, turn the dry on your reverb to zero or a very little bit, lots of wet, big room. I am not sure if that's what you mean, but that's how I'd do it.

I've done similar stuff to this in Ableton by using Beat Repeat on a send with some reverb.
