Tonight begins an epic four-night, two-weekend "gathering of
the tribes," where many of NYC's major art collectives and
undercurrents meet. Complacent and Dumboluna bring together
hundreds of performers, DJs, musicians, and artists in the
historic Schwartz Factory – a former power plant with 90,000
sq. ft. spread across three cavernous floors and an outdoor
courtyard. Tonight, SF's mighty Ming & FS perform their
patented "junkyard" style of hip hop, drum 'n bass, and
house with 4 decks and live instruments. Akim Funk Buddha
presents aerial acts, breakdancing, and funk with Dha
Fuzion. The Freeskool crew and many others stir up more
beats, breaks, 2-step, and techier sounds. Expect visual
stimulation, performances, spontaneous encounters, circus
stunts, interactive machines, post-apocalyptic rides, and
even a geodesic dome in this "future-fantastic landscape."
