Complicated question regarding desk.
Right I'll try make this as simple as possible.
I have a custom made desk (noting fancy, just pine wood frame fitted to a wall with a pine top.
There is a cavity currently under the desk, as there are with most tables. Think about an inverted shoe box, add legs to each corner and that's my table basically. Only the cavity is only about 3 inches deep.
My question is this:
To neaten up all my cables I intend to place a thin sheet of wood over this cavity, with a small access area where I can thread cables in, and they can sit there out of sight and out of the way.
HOWEVER...
Would this in effect create a sound box effect like that of a acoustic guitar, etc? Would this effect the sound in my room with vibrations from my monitors that sit on the desk being amplified through the desk?
If so would a dampener like rock wool remove this?
