What do YOU listen to at the gym?

I listen to trance just about everywhere. Whether I'm at work, at school studying, in my car or even laying around the house. Thing is, it just doesn't cut it when I'm lifting weights. I need beats that make me aggressive and pump me up, and unfortunately, well, trance trances me and makes me weak. I usually have hard, hard house playing on my mp3 player to really get fierce and throw some weight around...

when im at the gym i just go with whatever is on the radio. doesnt make a difference to me when lifting.

running is a different story though. ill get alot of songs on my mp3 player with the same style beat and time my stride to the bass. song has to have alot of energy in it to keep me movin though. Apollo 440 - Stop The Rock (Gigolo Instumental) is very good for this.

yeah, I feel pretty silly listening to trance when I am doing something blah like the stair master. At my regular time Price is Right is on, so I listen to that. But when I run, it's all I want to hear! I also run to the beat. I forget everything, and don't realize when I would usually be panting and on the floor, and go for much much longer. Try it early early in the morning when it is still dark and no one else is on the streets. I always loved running to Svenson - Clubbing on Sunshine, gorgeous melody, and perfect beat.

cheers!
Ilina

As long as it not Hip-Hop, R&B or the likes, and as long as it has a fast beat with a melody I listen to it. Most of the tunes are on the cheezy side tho, cuz In my gym its a democracy, if most ppl don't like it, we turn on the radio

I don't know what is up with you guys, but I always listen to trance when I work out. It takes my mind off of what I'm doing, makes it more enjoyable. I can't do cardio without musik, and the earphones help drown out all the retards who talk too much at my gym. They think it's a fucking social club or something. I recommend finding some harder tracks.

I know the guys who are in charge of the gym I work out in... so all I do is give them my sets that I record, or just any CD I want, and they play it.
cool, ain't it?

i go to the gym with my brother and we usually talk...not like whole conversations but like how many sets, reps, weights, checking out the occasional hottie. so i dont bring an mp3 player. they have music playing at the gym althoug its always crappy..
if i went alone i would probably listen to hard trance, but i dont so oh well

I find that I do my best with trance mix CD (like those from Ministry of Sound). Many have songs I could do without but that does not bother me because all I need to get pumped up is to that heavy bass and fast beat (much preferable to that rock stuff they play at my gym). I once did well lifting to gangster rap and am finidng that I lift well to hard house too.

Once again, it's all about the aggressive beat for me because my when I lift the weights the goal (for me at least) is to be MAD agressive.

For cardio I just listen to something which will carry me for 30 minutes. Trance works here too but I like to mix it in with some funky house.
