Anyone going to Trance Energy this year?

I think there was a thread somewhere but I can't find it. Anyone going? Any tips? I'll be going with a couple friends.

Could also use some recommendations on places to stay in Amsterdam too!

I've stayed at only a couple of different hotels in Amsterdam because renting an apartment is much better. You can find many holiday rentals on the web.
A-train hotel is pretty cheap but the rooms are pretty small and the street noise can be annoying. Barbizon Palace is a very nice hotel and sometimes you can get a good deal with them.

I would recommend that you stay around the old center, which is the area around the Centraal Station and along Damrak. It is a bit touristy, but it's within walking distance to most things you would want to see in Amsterdam. Centraal Station is where you will arrive from the airport and also where you will take a train down to Utrecht for Trance Energy. I stayed in Park Plaza Victoria, which is literally right across the street from the train station, but there are plenty of hotels in that area of varying rates. I preferred to stay as close as possible to the Centraal Station since after being at TE for 10 hours, I wanted to do as little walking as possible from the train station to the hotel at 8AM.

There is always a TranceAddict gathering at Dam Square on Friday night before the party to get acquainted with other party-goers(for the Luminosity pre-party or just to hang out at a local pub) and also another gathering on Saturday night to go to the main event together.

You'll have a blast. Feel free to PM me if you need any more info. I was planning on going again this year but because this event is in April(instead of Feb-March in previous years), I won't be able to make it. The lineup is always great and you'll have a great time. I believe they will do something different this year compared to previous years, as they are focusing on a lot of the up-and-coming trance acts.

thanks guys. the problem is that I need to find a place for 3 people,
which pretty much leave hostels or hotels that charge an arm and a leg for 3 people. I'm looking at some apartments, but they are all 2 person
max! ugh

There are lots of holiday rentals that accommodate 3 or more people! Here are a few websites you should check out:

http://amsterdam.citymundo.com/

http://www.vrbo.com/vacation-rental...therlands#a1596

http://www.vacationhomerentals.com/...etherlands.html

http://www.amsterdamrooms.info/

http://www.travel-library.com/accom...ands/amsterdam/

http://www.holiday-velvet.com/amste...rdam_apartments

http://www.amsterdamaccommodationsonline.com/index.php

And I agree on everything Koolaid wrote. I stayed in Jordaan both times I went to Trance Energy and I was able to walk home the second time because I wore very comfortable shoes. You can't survive TE without them!
