hello people i recenlty upgraded to cubase 5 and windows 7
i never seen this error happen in previous versions of cubase
or windows xp.
i had a slower computer ,slower processor before ,now i have a more powerful computer with the 64 bit windows 7 and the 64 bit cubase
id figured my setup would be set . but i do feel this is related to windows 7 and not a computer related /cpu type issue anyone else have any ideas or workarounds let me know.

i have 64bit windows 7, cubase 5 and similiar problems...
i can hear noises an pops coming out from my speakers when i play only one song. is this because of an overload?
dont know because reason says "your computer too slow..." if i open 10 songs and play one.. but in cubase there is no msg, just broken sound. and i have a good computer too (intel core duo 2,2ghz, 4gb RAM)

what soundcard ?
It is impossible to help unless you provide more information. Either post enough info or stop wasting bandwidth. My initial guess is that you are both using onboard sound devices.

Most likely. Of course I can't say for sure without knowing all your specs but this would explain your situation and of course the meter spike in cubase from the OP.

it's weird i dont have these problems with reason and ableton.
Do you get this error while rendering out in realtime? I get a similar error, the dreaded "CPU Overload" error that plagues me and countless others. Just read the Cubase.net forums and you'll find many threads on this subject. The only work around is doing a non-realtime export. Not sure if this is the same fix for "ASIO Overload" but worth a shot.
I recently upgraded to Windows 7 with Cubase 5 and it works great, however i had to disable all Windows sounds as it seems Windows is using my ASIO driver, so whenever a sound coming from Windows the playback in Cubase would stop.
