I dont know how to help you exactly but when I had issues with my novation automap the guys at novation tech support literally spend hours on the phone re-creating the exact environment my problem occured in on their machines and told me how to fix. Couldn't recommend their tech support any higher they are excellent.

yeah i really need to speak with them direct i think, or for someone who knows the logic / novation set up well enough to help me with the configuration of it.

I have done research a fair bit on it, but when your not sure on what to look for there may really be no one way of resolving it without stumbling across it by accident...
