New member saying hi etc...
Hello guys, I'm new around here and wanted to say hi. I wasn't sure which forum section would be best to post for the first time so I figured that here was the safest bet.
My back-story and why I'm here : I've always loved to make music and I started my dabbling a long time ago on FL Studio 3. I started with remixing old game midi's and moved into trying to actually make music of my own. Unfortunately I had to take a break from this newfound music hobby, as life took it's course. Now I've decided that I really want to take up trance production seriously and stick with it.
So here I am, taking the next logical step. I figured it was a good idea to start getting into the trance community and seeing what I could learn / contribute.
A little about myself : I'm 23, currently a student in Mechanical Engineering at Metro State of Denver.
Music background : I've played the Cello since I was 10 and had private lessons until I was 21. My music theory background is zilch, but I have (in my humble opinion ^^) a good enough set of ears, natural feel for music and the love of trance. My inspirations are numerous but Ronald Jenkees, Armin Van Buuren and Paul Van Dyk are among a few.
Current Gear : YamahKX61 midi controller, Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro headphones, FL Studio 9 XXL and a creative X-FI platinum Soundcard.
I've also started doing research into Cubase and Pro-tools, but I won't have the money to afford them for a semester or two.
Favorite top-3 trance sub-genre's are : Progressive, Dance and Uplifting.
I have a couple tracks I'm actively working on, with one nearing completion. I would love to share and see what you guys think but I couldn't find any blatant resource on a recommended method for music sharing.
