"I have my eye on one really big artist that I would love to work with, and that's Jay Z," he said. "Such a legend. He's such a phenomenal artist ... I mean, I would love to be in the studio with this guy for a day or two. You guys should make it happen for me — let's do it, let's go!"

It's not just a trance crowd anymore that come to my show," Tiësto said. "It's really a very diverse crowd who loves electronic music. And someone like Calvin Harris — they're into Diplo, they're into Santigold, they're into everything like Kaskade or deadmau5 and they'll all come to my shows, because I think Tiësto is for everyone.

I think it's a misquote and he actually said Haddaway, not Jay-Z.

You know what? it's easy to sit back and bah the guy for doing this, but good for him. How often do you see a dutch trance dj break into the mainstream? (Not saying this is good/bad for hte "scene", but from a career standpoint, it's pretty damn good.)

I could see it happening. Jay-Z's mostly about brand marketing these days, so a pairing with the Tiesto-brand for maximum potential club penetration would make good business sense.
On the other hand, Guetta's proven to be more popular in the States, and Z ain't gonna wanna be associated with no second-best. Sorry, Tijs, you may have to settle for Diddy in this case.
