I just moved here and so far there are no EDM clubs and no EDM DJ's. I am used to spinning at clubs in Hollywood, and am starting to get very sad because I am tired of spinning by myself. Its all Hip Hop around here!

Get out as soon as possible!

I used to live in allentown, my family is still there so I am up there at least twice a month. When I am there I don't even bother going to clubs, lol. It's all hip hop dj, and some really bad ones.

I actually started my djing career at this billiard hall, which was the only place that played edm. The Place is closed now. I suggest contact these two guys. DJ Wolf and DJ Keith Hawk. They sometimes try and get an event going. Also sometimes there are rave events, I think the girl who runs it is named dj sparklez.

I would suggest try making the trip to philly, even though it's not really any better, but there is some good places playing edm. You should come to philly this friday. Me and a few other TA's are going to be playing vango, which is really nice venue, and one of the few places that supports edm. Thanks for the info Ali! I will make an attempt at going to Philly this Friday...I would sure love to meet some people. Please keep me posted on other future events.
Rafnel, how close to Allentown are the Poconos?

I'm about 45 min from Allentown. Not that bad considering the drive to anything from my house is at least a half hour. And about 2 and a half hours to NYC.

yes, sadly the lehigh valley is VERY lacking in good clubs/good music. i typically make a monthly trek to either NY or philly, sometimes DC and recently Miami to get my fix. its crazy tho, because the interest in listening to EDM is here, there's just nowhere to hear it!

dj keith hawk is a friend of mine. he's been djing recently in philly at Grey Lounge. you should talk to him, i know he's got some promoter contacts in the area..maybe something could come of it! shoot him an email, tell him lori sent you. [email protected]

lol oh man, you are in the worst area. Allentown is so ghetto. I doubt you will find anything besides rock venues/hip-hop. Maybeeeee Easton,PA, but I highly doubt it. Like everyone else said, get out or make the trip to philly/ny.

I've been two a few raves in Allentown but I think that scene died now. They used to throw parties at some ballroom um... the Americas Center I think it was called, and some other club which was actually a cool venue but I can't think of the name to save my life right now.

P.S. Wayde you live in the fucking Poconos man... and I bitch about having to cross a bridge to get to the city hahah

Haha yeah, I live in the middle of no-where on miles of land. Nearest gas station is about 10 miles away, and theres tons of hillbillies driving around in pickup trucks.

Hell it takes me 30 min just to get McDonalds...

I live over the bridge in nj .... But man just take the ride to the city not much out here or in philly anymore... after all its NYC..

Dude, my best friend goes to K-Town and I remember the first time me and my boy Sam Kong went for a ride up to visit him from Philly. Dude, we got lost in the middle of no where, only to get to Allentown 2 hours late. I thought I saw the hill from the movie Michael Clayton with the horses n shit...was CREEPY!

Trance is the last thing that anyone is that area has ever heard of. They'll look at you funny if you ask them.
