Audio interface

Hi everyone, I'm just looking for some advice. I've been dj'ing in my bedroom now since last summer but I got a new laptop at xmas (Sony Vaio VGN-NW20SF) unfortunately this doesn't have a line in connection so I bought a cheap RCA http://www.decks.co.uk/products/behringer/UCA222

This isn't what I'd call good quality but I've put up with it for a few mixes that I've recorded, now however I think I'm getting better at mixing but I also want better sound quality from my recordings. Has anyone got any advice on what is a good recording interface? I don't need anything with loads of options and connections for MIDI controllers etc I just want something that will record a good sound.

Cheers

I've heard good things about the M-Audio Fast Track series and the Echo Indigo cards. Different price ranges though but check em out.

I'm using audactity 1.3 at the minute but hoping to get something more advanced in the next couple of months like Ableton.

That is Savage!!

I haven't heard of anyone using audacity to dj.. too funny! Fair play man.

Way to make things difficult for yourself but fair play.

I'm pretty sure he means that's what he uses to record.

Anyways, I own the Native Instruments Audio 4 DJ and it works perfectly.

Native instruments are also doing a promotion at the moment whereby you get a free upgrade if you purchase the audio Dj2 4 or 8.

2 and 4 get you Duo (instead of LE) and 8 gets you traktor pro..
