Was this your way of informing us that it was your birthday and complaining you didn't have a birthday thread?

Ah yes, blame it on the booze. Exactly something an 18 year old would do.

look at the bright side; you're not old enough to collect "Canada Pension" or "Old Age Security" yet; see, you've got 46 years before you're old enough for everything. Chin-up kid... 46 years of toil, monotany, and hardship to look forward to until you're "old enough to do everything."

Can't say it was much of a big deal...it's not like I didn't do a lot of shit I shouldn't have gotten away with when I was underage. When I finally turned 19, the bar was already old news for most of my friends who had been getting in with fake id for years.

I think the main benefit from "being an adult" is having more money to do better/more exciting things, take trips, be spontaneous, etc. Enjoying a good job, and yeah - having more freedom to do whatever the hell you want (within reason). It's weird, but I didn't feel this sense of freedom until I actually had more responsibilities. I guess it makes me feel like I've earned the right to it. Rather, that it feels more rewarding and justified to spend money and do random shit.
