...just came back from downstairs, asked my brother about his HP's because he has similar ones.... being the Sennheiser HD210. Not sure what the difference is though. Anyway, my personal experience. I really don't like the sound quality on them. I own sony V500 DJ's myself, and I really like them alot better. They're great for home DJ'ing. Wouldn't bring them to a club I think, but they're great for what I want.

Another thing that bugs me about 210/200's is the cable. it's too friggin long, and UNcoiled, very anoying when djing. (3 meters ) A lot of headphones have long wires, which is a good thing, BUT make sure they're coiled.

Best advice I can give you is go to a shop where you can try them, and where you can have a listen.

Too bad the HD 200 is no longer distributed in the U.S. However, I didn't care much for those 'phones anyway, judging by a brief listen a couple of years ago. But I particularly dislike the Sony MDR-V500DJ's now (I used to think they were okay): The bass (on the V500DJ's) is dull, lifeless, and doesn't go at all deep; the highs are tinny and muffled both at once.

like I said, don't order online, but go to a store where you can try them and judge for yourself....THEN check if you can get the model you've decided to buy cheaper online or in other stores.

When it comes to headphones, personal preference plays a biiiig role.

hey slim, if you dislike 'em that much... what 'phones would you recommend (in this pricerange) . just curious, and maybe you can help out mantis...

That site had gotten the model number mixed up! That's the HD 270, NOT the HD 280! And the HD 270 is nowhere near as accurate - nor is it as good-sounding - as the HD 280.

Hrmmm.. Where's Gluegun when you need him?
I have Sony MDR-V6's as many others here do.. Quite comfy. They don't fit completely over the ears, which is a small drawback. They're cheap! Sound is good.. Although I have nothing to compare them too. Overall a good set of headphones..

I owned a pair of Sony mdr-v500's for a couple of days before returning them. The sound quality is utter crap compared to some of the headphones sennheiser and others put out.

I've got a pair of the HD200.

As a beginner set of headphones they're aren't bad at all. But as someone mentioned there is an extremely long cord that hangs around alot.

Also, they aren't that great at keeping sound out. So I'll generally hear part of the monitor coming through when both ears have the phones on. But they haven't distorted on me yet and the sound quality is good.

They were the best phones I could find for that price.
