My take on an old classic, hope you guys like!

Updated, changed up a lot of stuff

First thing I can spot is its very soft approach.
Had a few years of cranking this up and enjoying the energy.

I think the melody is for an energetic trancer.Or maybe it just sounds alien to me in a housey format

I Like the FX and reverb automation? towards the end of the break.

Maybe the bass could be a little more beefy?
The sidechained plucky synth is interesting.

When the saw plucks come in there seems to be some points of rogue sidechained white noise.Might be intentional.

Overall I think it needs something to push it along a little.

Go on ,up the BPM

In two minds about this one.

Actually I think it's a really good house/trance cross over track and would work well early in a trance night.

I think if you were to up the BPM you would have to write another bassline, that's not to say that you can't write a trance version.

It's a nice uplifting piece that works well.

i don't listen to trance anymore, but this production is solid.

the bass doesn't need any work. it's perfect. it's got a good amount of thump and it's not messy at all. the first thing i noticed was how well the bass was arranged. and the percs. good perc arrangement. the main synth sounds good too. maybe add a bit more reverb/delay in it to fatten it up a bit, that's what all you trance producer kids are doing nowadays right? lol.

one thing i wasn't feeling was the intro sidechained(?) string synth. it's either too quiet, or the synth is ducking behind the rest of the track too much, because i can't get a good feel of what the pattern is supposed to sound like. maybe get rid of the sidechain?

also, the arpeggio- good stuff, but the entire mix feels too centered, which in turn makes it sound too dull/flat. i would've liked to hear the arpeggio separated a bit between the left and right channels. i suggest either using a stereo separator, or manually panning each individual note hard/medium-hard left and right, or using a ping-pong delay. that, imo, would help fatten up the song quite a bit, and make it sound more complete. throw in a couple of effects and you're good to go, imo.

finally, have you tried messing with a low-pass filter on that arpeggio? you could really put some emotion into the breakdown with a well-placed filter swell imo.

Agreed, the bass is probably the strongest part of the track.

Thanks for commenting, yea the melody is a bit fast paced, im thinking of scrapping the chord part. Not sure what you mean by more bassy, do you mean more highs? I think it sounds fine

The sidechained noise is acctually coming from a reverb(guess its glitching or something) and no its not a part of the song.

Thanks, yea I origionally started off the track with percussion, then added this bassline. But couldnt get anything musical to happen so I decided to remix this. Sorry about the main sound being a bit too flat, been using this new reverb latley and havent fully reached the sound I want yet.

As i said i hadnt worked on the intro yet, but i would like to keep the strings sidechained, but def more reverb. Havent started on the stereo feild yet, Ill do it tonight.

Love this alo.

Reckon you could toughen up the kick and bring the background melodies louder. Throw in some more etheral minimal blips noises panning arounde in the background or out superwide.

Overall a realy good job! nice track

Love the whole idea too.

But the lead is kind of lonely - needs some catchy lead in my opinion. I would layer another one with a more higer frequeny to support the whole melody.

Actually I started with a remix for this track too (just some month ago). But I stoped working on it as I was looking for the original vocal or even other mixes where I could cut those vocal hooks.

Fiji is one of those forgotten trance classics. Haven't seen any re-edits of it in the last years. So it is a brilliant idea for a remake of such a classic tune.
