There are 4 champions on the grid this year... I don't remember the last time that's ever happened. Throw Vettel and Massa into the mix too, and let's not forget, Nico will be going wheel to wheel with the big boys too.

End of the 90's? Schumi, villeneuve, Hill, Hakkinen?

Yeah! And no refuelling? That's whack! that was a part of the 'show' I actually enjoyed. To watch 21 crew members move around a car in 7 seconds in such a perfectly choreographed manner has always impressed me to no end.

There was such a disparity between the 1997 Williams Renault FW19 & the rest of the grid that year that it's hard for me to consider him a legitimate champion. Just look at what happened the next year when Williams went with the Mechachrome engines (essentially re-badged Renaults from the year prior) & then the rest of his career with BAR etc. Without a car that was far & away the best on the grid, he could barely be called a competitor. I feel better driver in that FW19 wouldn't have even had to worry about Schumacher in that final race at Jerez as they would have locked up the championship long before that.

Well it will be 21 -3, so 18 is still pretty good. At least there shouldn't be any botched pit stops due to faulty refueling rigs. But, it will be fun to see who the first team to run out of fuel will be. I'm saying Ferrari. Botched pitstop, montezemolo flips out, and fires domenicali.

I think we are hoping for too much this season. Sure the points battle will be interesting with so many strong drivers, but the drivers and tracks are pretty much the same, which is the real concern for entertainment.

The 7 point gap between first and second is going to see the real racers push to the point of failure. That is of course if a single team/driver doesn't build a crazy lead and walk away with it.

In the last 15 years, North America's leagues have not produced a single driver that can compete on a realistic level in F1.

Zonta, Montoya, Speed, Zenardi, even Jaques, Bordais...
