Snake31 - Tirus

Tirus by Snake31

An uplifting/dream trance WIP of mine. Converting it to MP3 made it quiet down a bit, so just turn your speakers or headphones up.

meh nothing too interesting.

not trying to be mean, but you really need to work on the "wow" factor. IMHO, the bass isn't great at all, your kick needs massive rework, and the background percussion sounds kinda weird. i will say that you do have yummy pads and synths in your song, hence the "dream" factor. also, you need to work on your eq, dynamics, and compression. when you look at the waveform, the final half is almost a straight up rectangle man.

work it, work it, work it!

Thanks! I know it's not much special, but your comments really made me happy because I spent most of my time programming those synths and trying to get them to sound just how I wanted to.

that's my job!

don't be put down by the rest of what I said. this song has nice potential, but you need to strengthen its base first.

one step at time

The bass is a single square analog paired with a sine wave and some frequency/res adjustments and mild EQ. Bass isn't my strong point because I guess I never learned how to correctly program a good synth for it. Some pointers would be helpful.
