Labels Specializing in "Pop-tronica"

Yeah, yeah, I know.

I've got several dance tracks featuring female vocalists that are very much in a commercial/pop format that I'd like to send out to a few labels, but I really have no idea which labels might be interested. These songs are <4 minutes, follow a typical pop song structure, and borrow heavily from house and trance styles, but are definitely not trance/house label material. They probably aren't Atlantic Records quality either, but they're solid songs with catchy hooks (read: cheesy/pop) and a few of them have been getting consistent airplay and numerous requests on the biggest pop radio station in Sacramento, so I'd say that have some commercial appeal.

Any suggestions for decent, but realistic, labels that specialize in this type of music would be great because I have no idea where to send them. Thanks!

I'd say you were caught between a roack and a hard place.

Way too uncool for the smaller net labels (who all specialise in stuff you just wouldn't understand) and too unknown for the major labels who release pop music that may actually sell more than a dozen copies.

There's a gap in the market there somewhere......

That certainly seems to be the case.

I was gonna say Indie pop label. I don't know any right off, but there has to be a lot of them. Pop sure isn't like EDM though, you're expected to get out and do shows, as opposed to hiding in a bedroom producing tracks. But anyway, I'm all about pop and rock now. I'm working on a song for Mia, I just have to record the guitar tracks, which is taking forever cause I'm a perfectionist.

So you are getting some local radio play, that's awesome. That's the best promotion/exposure of all.

That's a good point and, actually, the girls do perform live on occasion and would like to do more of that. The thing is, I'm really not interested in playing live anymore (I did that for most of my adult life) and I'm not really set up for live performances anymore anyway, so I'm content to take a back seat to their successes. When they do perform live, it's to a backing track that my DJ/producer/collaborating buddy Avery Parker (aka justjabbin) spins. Most importantly, though, our songs aren't about me at all - the singers are intentionally the focus of ALL our songs.

So, I guess what I'm saying is that indie pop labels might actually be a good idea to consider, given our working arrangement and the fact that getting support for our songs is primarily for their benefit - I'm just trying to facilitate their success (hence the reason I'm excited for Mia to sing on your track!).
