Ableton Live: Freezing a Track that is used as a Side-Chain Source

Freezing a track in Live, which is used as a Side-Chain source, isnt
possible by default. After doing some internet search, I found a very
easy way to get around that restriction.
All you have to do, is to group the Side-Chain source track and using that group as the new Side-Chain source. After that, you can freeze the track from the newly created group.
The original post for this trick is here: http://www.nuskoolbreaks.co.uk/foru...hained+channels

Cheers

yup! def how i do it. i don't get why people don't at least group their drums together to side-chain them w/ the same side-chain settings. I can understand the flexibility of having the high hat pump more than the conga loops but to my ears it sounds better when all the top loops are sidechaing w/ the same pump/feel.

same w/ layers of sounds, if you have a chord progression w/ 8 layers, group them and sidechain it as one, again it sounds more cohesive. subtle differences from knee to threshold to release can really effect a sounds sidechain and it can create a mess.
