Replacing woofers in HT setup.

Hey folks,

I have a set of PSB home theater speakers that I acquired for free. Since they retailed for 600-700$ 7-8 years ago, i figured itd be worth putting some money into them.

The two main 8" woofers are ripped, so I will be replacing them. However after browsing online, Im pretty intimidated as to what to replace them with.

They came with VIFA P21WO-29 woofers rated at 6 ohms. These woofers are no longer available, so I cant simply replace them with the same ones.

Im on a budget and dont want to spend more than 75$ per woofer, can someone point me in the right direction?

I want something that will sound good for house parties and something that can pump out some decent volume and bass.

I was looking at these, but have no idea what im looking for.

I'd say you would have better luck posting this on a forum dedicated to home AV systems.

I use AVFORUMS a lot - it's a great place and a huge amount of posters with extensive knowledge.

You'll be far likelier to get a decent response there.
