Mouse wheel?

Take the ball out, and clean the inside rollers. They probably have dirt on them that's interfering with the ball's movement.

Everyone @ my company has gone through at least 2 before leaving or being fired. These things suck.

At least on the older ones, you could just pry it out with a screwdriver. Now you have to take the whole damn case apart.

if you click with the middle mouse button you can scroll up and down without the wheel.
