Funny story of the day #2: After 30 minutes of scraping around the sting site, causing even more pain, I remembered wasps don't leave stingers.

If i remember correctly, bee stings should be treated with vinegar to neutralise the sting, and wasps sting should be treated with bi carbonate of soda

nah, wasp stings are alkaline, must be treated with viniger or lemon juice (ouch)
bee stings are acidic, like ant stings, i always rub soap on, coz bi carbonate of soda is nasty.
