Well, after a bunch of hiccups with the Celemony Challenge/response method, and out of experience, although I don't like dongles at all, I must admit that they spare you a lot of time whenever you need to re-install your computer from scratch. I might have to get one for Celemony Software only.
I used to have an ilok, and I used to install several iLoks for clients. What I know is that most people like me DO HATE the iLok authorization system on their website, guess why they ask me to do it.
I'm so happy that Korg removed their dongle system for a simple C/R. But that said, I keep my steinberg key delivered with the Korg software, just in case.
If developers think that those dongles will help them fight the windows users who are keen to use illegal software only, they are simply wasting their time. The only way forward is cheaper prices for everyone. Many developers got it, and some of them are so smart when it comes to selling their stuff that they don't even need to post demo versions of their software... Audiodamage? D16? THEY ROCK YET THEY'RE CHEAP!
Guess why Waves is BANNED from my environment... Still you want to know how many cracked apps I am using? ZERO, Nada, nothing. I've got 8k of plug-ins and instruments on this hard drive!
