2010.09.17 Fabricated @ Stone Lounge w/ DJs Jamie Kidd, Rich Hope, & Matt Coleridge
For the September 2010 edition of Fabricated we invite some veteran Toronto DJ's to make their debut for us. We're pretty excited for what they have in store.
JAMIE KIDD (Metalogic)
Toronto based Jamie Kidd is a multi-instrumentalist turned electronic producer and dj. His tastes for the unknown and skills as a musician inspire him to take the spirit of live music and improvisation into every performance.
As a funk, jazz and rock bassist, Jamie has recorded and toured with numerous live groups throughout Canada and the US. Since 2005, Jamie has produced several singles and remixes for labels including Toronto's Thoughtless Music, California based Monism, and Halifax's Stratagem. In 2006, Kidd joined Frederik Hatsav to form Metalogic. Their collaborations have accumulated in edgy, dynamic and highly rhythmic electronic music, releasing for such labels as New York's Addon, Brooklyn's Hidden Agenda, London's Perc Trax, and Berlin's Nachtstrom Schallplatten. The duo’s ‘Boxed and Warped', ‘Surge Stimulator’, and 'Cabin Pressure' EP's were fiercely supported by artists such as Perc, Extrawelt, Cari Lekebusch, Tony Rohr, Len Faki, Phil Kieran, Alex Bau, Xpansul, Nick Warren, Frankie Bones, and John Selway.
In one of the most vibrant underground scenes in North America, Jamie has quickly distinguished himself among the city’s finest techno, tech.house, and minimal dj's. Since its inception, he has been the resident dj for Toronto techno titans Platform, performing alongside some of the world's most respected artists including Jeff Mills, Speedy J, Trentemoller, Adam Beyer, Tiefschwarz, Radio Slave, Matthew Dear, Rob Hood, Paul Ritch, James Holden, Timo Maas and many more.
A fetish for bass heavy, pulsating sub textures, dubbed-out effects, and long teasing blends, Jamie Kidd hijacks your mind on an impulsive journey in and out of deep unauthorized darkness, and manic but pleasurable innocence.
RICH HOPE (Bounce)
Rich Hope has been DJing for over a decade now, spinning deep and dubby house music for anyone who likes it just a little funkier on the dancefloor. Over the years Rich has played alongside international acts like JT Donaldson, Jacob London, Bryan Jones, Justin Long, Fred Everything, and LawnChair Generals to name a few. He’s played many of the city’s best clubs too: Toronto institutions like Footwork, Boa, System Soundbar, as well as the legendary Stereo in Montreal. In a Rich Hope DJ set, expect quick mixing and eclectic programming, with a discernible arc that moves the crowd from beginning to end.
