wish it had one or two more octaves on the piano so it could be a good midicontroller too. if it has usb and a good soundcard i might consider something like this someday. why is there a drummer sitting there? lol.

What's the deal with the interface?
I thought we'd kissed tiny screens and softkeys goodbye.

Bah!
A synth needs knobs!!
When I first saw the name (UltraNova), I was expecting the next version of the SNII - a big blue rack unit with knobs galore. So, I was a little disappointed at first glance, but the UN does look like it's spec'ed out pretty well and has some pretty cool new features and tricks. Assuming it's in the same price range as the other new breed of similar VAs (e.g., Gaia), this synth should do pretty well.

I still find the way they allude to this being related to the excellent Supernova quite patronising.
In the same way that Roland rolling out new 'Junos' is quite hilarious.
I just feel a small hardware synth should really focus on sound and interface and not on features that are almost always irrelevant.
How long before a Facebook compatible synth is released ffs.

That feature where touching those knobs for effects.....isn't that from the Moog Voyager, where touching the metal parts on the outputs on the back would give unintended (bug like) but nice added effects?
And seriously, Chuckie? I'm glad he likes the compressor, cause he sure knows what he's talking about.

"Problem" with Novation is, they keep hanging on to the same "3 OSC" DSP engine, which rendered all their outboard fully redundant since they launched V-Station.
V-Station sounds as good as any outboard NOVATION en when you are not a live performer, this doesn't bring much more to the table, engine wise.
