Looking for judges

I'm putting together a contest with a modest or sizeable(depends if you live in norway or not) cash prize)

I'm looking for someone that will judge the mix and someone that will judge the production as I will be judging the composition. You will have to provide feedback to all the entries and also score them. Might take 8 hours of your time over a month period. All you have to do is listen to the submitted tracks and write feedback and a score. Maximum of 10 people entered so really, you could do it all in an hour or 2.

The whole thing will be fun but the incentive for a few hundred dollars will make it a little more competitive. Unfortunately, the judges don't get shit.

So if anyone is interested or actually , if you could nominate someone that knows what they are talking about, do let me know. Please do just post here as my in box is really for TA sex chat.

each judge would have their niche as not everyone is great at everything.

When you say mix im thinking how well the track is mixed, which is about the same how well a track is produced in my book.

The mixing is if the track is cohesive and drives smoothly from the different parts of it , a real good track must have a good mixing.

Check this, this track has several parts some more chilling some more banging but all is well put together

here i will post you my real first production which has an awful mixing so you can compare.

I always considered that "form", mixing to me is the same as production, unless "mix" and "mixdown" are two different things.

EDM is confusing.

[IMO]Production could hold your choice of sounds, maybe the elements you all in all have in your track, how have you picked your drums, how well are your sounds designed etc.

The mix is how all that is put together, how clean / muddy your mix sounds, how good is your eq'ing, compression and such.[/IMO]

I separate them because they are separate issues and a song with great production can be poor composition with a mediocre mix.

composition : melodies, harmony and form
production : effects, sound design,
Mixing : judging the quality of the final mix. Not is the bass good but is the bass easy to hear and at the right levels.

The way I will have it is each contestant will have to explain their track as I will have certain elements mainly a melody and some chords that although doesn't have to be used verbatime the person must explain how the elements were used.

the judges will give feedback as it will allow everyone the opportunity to learn not only from the actual tracks and their description but also from the judging.

The goal is that everyone will learn something and of course the winner will get at least 250$ from me no strings attached and you still own the rights to your track. The aren't really any artist guidelines other than the melodic and motivic content that you can use in any way.

People have been talking about a contest but unless there is money in it, nobody is going to apply themselves and I don't mind paying.
