tick tock sound

hey guys bit of a funny question really but here goes anyway,
this tune im working on right now is coming towards its final stages but theres one part of it where every time i listen to it i keep imagining this tick tock noise fading out, so i want some ideas as to what i couls use to make this kinda sound without using a clock sample, it only sounds like a tick tock kinda sound rather than an actual sample of a clock ticking if ya get what i mean, might make no sense!
i aint come up trumps with the synths sounds ive tried so far

cheers

Ezzacrie!

The tick tock sound that most people associate with a clock is actually a metronome set to a tempo of 60 bpm.

mic that fucker up.

Just look through any percussion samples you have, I'm sure you can find something in there. I would try to find like a woodblock or something, I'm sure you can make a good ticking noise out of that

its a weird one really cos i dont want it to just sound like a tick tock sample from a clock, but i like the metronome idea and maybe i will try to sidechain a stretched tom to the tock as a trigger giving a after sound with some verb might work ! ill let you know and any other ideas plz
