I think djRann should get some Yamaha commission. Seriously. Even I might get some to compliment my superior genelecs just to fit in. So far I think he's convinced 5 people to buy them. IF only he could use his skills for evil. If you ever want to start a crime syndicate , I want in. It will be like the movies but for reals.

Are stands and mopads worth having, for an extra $80? (each naturally) I have a fairly large d...esk. ('bout an 8"...I mean 8' long d...esk)

I should be able to set them up a good 4-5 feet apart.

pads will definitely help. it's a cheap investment that'll work wonders.

Fuck, now I feel all weird but it's true, and that's not even including the people how have Pm'd me for monitor advice. I wish I had shares in Yamaha.

None the less, I think they are the best budget monitors out there at the moment and all the people I have suggested them to have been very happy to say the least.

The 626's do have really nice detail but when you go below the 100hz mark they begin to suffer, where the HS80's just keep going.

Genelec (I'm only saying this because Genelec originates in my hometown, Iisalmi, so proud.)

you should ask if u could borrow them home. i just bought the HS80M and it didnt work here. Its not the monitors fault i guess but they are very big so i should have understood that the bass would be too much. The upper midrange is missing though imo, good placement or not.

I bought some HS80s and they're superb. And I did so without any RANN influence either!
